For LPs

Introducing the new LP programme

The LP programme was designed to deliver multiple opportunities for active and potential investors of venture capital funds to gain a deeper understanding of this growing asset class. Several of these events will be limited to investors only, allowing for peer-to-peer exchange of information in a collegiate setting. All LP categories registrants will be invited to the exclusive events, listed below. We ask that those delegates qualified to attend on a complimentary basis plan to attend all of these events below.

24 October 1pm – 6pm Innovation Showcase (Invitation only, for LP delegates & Invest Europe member GPs)
Stockholm is one of Europe’s leading innovation centres. Join us to see venture capital funding in action, touring the city’s leading innovation hubs and the next generation at the cusp of unicorn status. Confirmed seating for the first 40 registrants.

24 October 6pm – 7pm VCF Opening Cocktail Party
Co-hosted with the SVCA, this opening party brings together the Venture Capital Forum delegation with Stockholm’s venture capital industry.

24 October 7:15pm – 10:30pm LP/VC Rotating Networking Dinner (Invitation only, for LP delegates and Invest Europe member GPs)
The LP/VC Rotating Networking Dinner brings together the LPs attending the Venture Capital Forum with the Invest Europe Member GPs also attending the Forum, for a prime networking experience in a historically significant setting.  The evening will begin with a reception and guided tour of the museum. We’ve privatised the museum for the evening, allowing for unparalleled access to this Swedish landmark. All LP delegates will be invited to the dinner. Due to the rotating format, where there is a new set of dining participants at each course, we ask that all participants plan to attend the entire duration of the dinner.

25 October 8:30am – 10:30am LP Breakfast and Roundtable (Invitation Only, to LP delegates)
This is a closed-door session where LPs may freely express their views and share their experience about investing in venture capital. The session is open exclusively to limited partners and potential investors, and by invitation only.
The roundtable will kick-off with a data presentation by Sigurd Næss-Schmidt, Partner and Director of Economics, Copenhagen Economics:

  • Why VC investments could be an attractive investment opportunity for institutional investors in the future
    • Human capital/IPR as the key driver of productivity and value creation globally: trends and perspectives
    • Recap of key performance metrics (returns in particular)
  • What needs to be true to make it happen:
    • A strong eco-system helping the firms from start-up stage to potentially IPO/large PE construction (legal, advisory, business angels, focused investors etc)
    • Supporting regulatory framework driving the eco-system
    • Cross-border aspects (economics of scale and scope particularly in Europe)
  • Stockholm as an example of how to succeed
